30 Day Web Design challenge: Day 20

Yep Day 20 is finally here. I have had some time to do what I want. I made a iPhone page mock up. It’s a lot darker than any of the others. But it still has the look and feel of a fun site. Day 20 complete.

30 Day Web Design challenge: Day 15

Wow! I have finally got to day 15! I have been crazy busy with other peoples work. This however has left no design time for me. So took the time to do some work for myself. I am determined to finish my 30 days of web design.

So I was thinking about navigation. You know right now website navigation is at a big change(mobile) but on the desktop it hasn’t changed dramatically. I mean it has, but it’s still the same function. Most navigation is at the top of the page and some on the left or right of the page. In this thinking I realized that I haven’t designed a side nag website for quite some time. I made up my mind to work on a side navigation. I have to say for me it was a little difficult. Just because it has been awhile. I think I will have to play with the side nag for awhile. Maybe colors, thickness, styles, etc. Anyway here is day 15 of my challenge in the new year 2014.

30 Day Web Design challenge: Day 13

Today I took day 10’s layout and built it out. It’s a fairly simple layout, but I do only have about an hour to lay these out. So I try to keep it simple, and not get too complex. So heavy compositing is way too time consuming. Even though I would like to make a themed, heavily composited website. For now this is giving me the freedom I need in design.

As a matter of fact I love the fact that the web has simplified down, so users can accomplish what they want rather than waiting for imagery to load. Anyway day 13 is complete.

30 Day Web Design challenge: Day 10

I’m back! Well, kind of. I am mostly done with my freelance gig. Still, there are little tweaks here, and there on the project that I have to make. I had a little time to kill and though I wanted to take a little break, I need to exert a little design freedom. Also, it has been killing me to not have completed this 30 day challenge. I have been thinking of this challenge, and feel that I was really rushing the design. I need to slow it down a bit. What I mean is, web design takes time, and in my design challenge its for me, so why rush to get a wireframe, and a design out in two hours.

Anyway, that’s another story for another day, here is Day 10 of my web design challenge. I may add a little tomorrow, or maybe make minor changes whatever I have time to do. It may be imagery, font changes, or maybe a little contemplating. So enjoy for now.

Day 20: Mobile Compositing/Wire Frame

I am back on the track for this mobile app. I did make some changes to my last wire frame that day 20 is based off of. I thought that these changes would make the experience a lot better for the user. I moved the rounded graph/meter off the page, so the user will have more room to view their what they have budgeted. It would be a cool idea to add the graph on the phone only when the phone is rotated sideways. Then the user would have more room to access all his/her budget graphs in a simple twist of the wrist.

Anyway day 20 is done.

This is a quote I found very profound by Nesta Robert “Bob” Marley from an interview he did before he died. It’s absolutely wonderful, so I decided to design this.

Nicely designed

Granted this pretty easy to do yourself. However if someone already made a script for it things would speed up dramatically. Great job on this.
